Buchan – Betty Y. 94, East Taylor Township, went to be with the Lord on June 1st, 2022, at home. Born on May 26, 1928, in Johnstown, daughter of Howard M. and Marguerite (Moffit) Good. Reunited with loving husband, Nicholas Buchan Sr., and son Christopher Michael Buchan. She is survived by children Marlene Buchan, Nicholas Jr married to the former Sally E. Callen, and Cheryl, wife of James Vautar, all of East Taylor Township; grandchildren, James Vautar, Nicole (Joseph Antal III), Marissa, (Chris Brainard) and Stephanie, (Will Urban Jr.) all of East Taylor Township; Rachelle (Nikolas Brown) and Leah (Aaron Peterson) both residing in Oregon. Great grandchildren, Tyler, Isaac, Gage, Blake, Peyton, Luke, Olivia, Mason, and Nolan. Great-Great grandson Connor. Brother-in-law, Petty Gjurich, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1946 graduate of Franklin High School. She worked at Penn Traffic as a salesclerk in the jewelry department. She was a member of the Conemaugh Church of the Brethren, where she taught bible school and Sunday school.  Betty’s true calling in life was being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, reading her Bible, and gardening. For years she enjoyed baking, cooking, and hosting Sunday dinners. She loved fishing, boating, and camping at Raystown Lake with her husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Above all, Betty lived for her family. Betty’s family would like thank all of Senior Life and their staff for kindness and loving support. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Monday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Tuesday at Conemaugh Valley Grace Brethren Church with the Pastor Patrick Himes officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions be directed to Conemaugh Valley Grace Brethren Church, 1256 William Penn Ave, Johnstown, PA 15906 in memory of Betty.
