Throughout time, there have always been those people in our society who have cared for the dead. In modern times, they are called funeral directors and they play an important role in society and a community. At Harris Funeral Home and Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, we are always available to you and your family, day or night, when you need us. During this time when we are all affected by the Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic, this has NOT changed. We are prepared to assist you during the most difficult time in your lives. Please be assured that nothing has changed about our dedication to the relationships we have built with our families. We are here for you! Our funeral homes are completely operational and we are sanitizing and using clean environment practices every day. For the protection of you, your families, our staff and their families, we are following the guidelines and directives recommended to us by the Federal, state and local government. We are also adhering to directives from the National Funeral Directors Association and Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. Both of those organizations are at the forefront of preparedness and scientific knowledge about disease and the protection of all of us. Public health is not a new subject to funeral directors and their staff. We are always mindful of the protection of families and our staff. At this time, we are however even more diligent regarding everyone’s safety.
We are working with local churches and outside funeral venues to provide you with their plans of action and guidelines. Our in-house funeral chapels are available for families with the recommendations outlined by gathering numbers.
We will be caring for your loved one at the time of death in the ways we always have. Continue to call us day or night when your loved one has passed away or when you need to pre-arrange their final plans. We will arrange funerals and gather information from you mostly by telephone or email and perhaps only meet face to face with you to sign documents. But truly, NOTHING has changed regarding our service to you. We are here to care for your loved one and you as a family. Feel free to call and ask questions about how we are handling things. We are always available to you. We would be glad to explain the current procedures and hopefully, things will soon be back to the ways we are used to.
As always, we truly hope that you will not need our services during this difficult time, but if you need us we are here for you.
