Beverly J. Bloom

Bloom –Beverly J., 88, Richland, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025. Born on July 31, 1937 in Johnstown, daughter of James I. and Mildred T. (White) Gay. Preceded in death by her parents; children, Jeffrey S. Bloom, and Beth E. Bloom; granddaughter, Allison L. Bloom; sisters, L. Gayle Cauffiel, and Nancy Faith, and brother-in-law, Terry “Pap” Swinger.

She is survived by her loving children, Randy, Penny (Bart) Wagner, Lori (Bob) Yelovich, and Neil (Elaine) Bloom; grandchildren, Jessica, Christie, Ernest, Ricky (Jackie), Brandyn (Ashley), Nicole, Benjamin (Jenna), Nolan, Hannah (Koen), and Norah; step grandchildren, Barrett, Nichole, and Kayla; numerous great grandchildren; great-great grandson; sisters, Lois Allen, and Joan Swinger brother, James A. (Patricia) Gay; brothers-in-law, Ron Faith, and Richard Cauffiel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beverly was a 1956 graduate of Richland High School. She loved going to church and was a member of the Johnstown Alliance Church. Beverly retired from Somerset County Youth Children’s Aid Home after many years of service as a cook. She was also a member of Solomon Run Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for 67 years, Adams Township Area Lions Club, and the Boy Scouts of America, where she earned the Silver Beaver Award. Beverly enjoyed bowling, Pittsburgh sports, cooking, baking, and making candy. Above all, she enjoyed showering love and affection on her family and those she adopted as her own.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. James Gay officiating. Lions Club service will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery.
