William P. "Bill" Gaspar

GASPAR----William “Bill” Gaspar was born on January 8, 1938 in Johnstown, PA. He was a graduate of Ferndale High School Class of 1955. He is preceded by his mother, Rose (Venglarchik) Gaspar and father, Stephen Gaspar as well as his mother-in-law Margaret Stefanka, son, Jeffrey Gaspar, brothers, James, Robert and sister, Betty Lou. His remaining loving family includes wife Ethel (Stefanka) Gaspar; children of Jeffrey, Kieran and Mikayla; Gregory Lange and Grace; Douglas and Nathaniel; Stephanie, Matt, Aiden and Matthew Miller; William, Maggie, Alexandra and Calvin, Johnstown Son Peach. 

Bill was an active member of St. Benedict Church, serving 50 years in the choir, Knights of the Altar, Cantor, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He also proudly served his country as an Air Force Veteran, was a member of his local Slovak club and the American Chestnut Foundation. He had a successful career with 3M and was also a self-employed entrepreneur for his medical billing consulting company.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Rome, Israel, and Slovakia as well as gardening, woodworking and exploring at Stackhouse Park with his children and grandchildren. There was no task that was impossible, he had an unwavering faith, was always there to help anybody in need, was an inspiration to many and the epitome of unconditional love. May he rest in peace with his Savior Jesus Christ. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland where vigil will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
