Cecelia was a lifelong member of the Church of the Transfiguration. She graduated in 1949 from Franklin High School. Cel was a math aide for the Conemaugh Valley Elementary school district. She enjoyed “camp” St. Cecelia in Elk County PA, where she was an avid hunter. Cecelia was a member of the Y.W.C.A and enjoyed swimming with her beloved friends. She was a great cook and baker and is well remembered for her pigs in a blanket and nut roll. She was a loyal Steeler fan and took cheering for her team very seriously. Cel and Ed loved to talk, tell jokes, and visit with their many friends. She loved to yard sale, quilt, and was an adept bargain hunter.  She was a lover of small children and all animals (except cats). During her last 6 months Cecelia lived at Nippenose Valley Village where she enjoyed the closeness of family, the caring staff and made new friends. While she regretted leaving her home, being at Nippenose brought out her sense of humor and wit making her last months vibrant and full.

Cel's husband Ed was my father Blaine Stypula's first cousin. I remember my family visiting them in Bon Air when I was younger. My dad was in their wedding. Somewhere I have a picture of the wedding party. She was a wonderful person and will be missed.
