BOES---Ruth H. (Mahan), 101, Davidsville, formerly of Geistown, went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2026 at Laurel View Village, surrounded by her family. Born August 9, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of Lester and Mary (Karcher) Mahan. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Raymond J. Boes; brothers, Paul Mahan and wife, Betty (Lichtenfels) and Carl Mahan and wife Joann (Gyan) and daughter-in-law, Karen (Miller) Boes. Survived by children, Patricia (Thomas) Myers; Mary Beth (Paul) Mancini; Lawrence (Haytham); Richard, David; and Dennis (Dolores); 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ruth was an employee of the General Telephone Company and Lopresti’s Market in Geistown. She was a lifelong member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Ruth also volunteered at the former Mercy Hospital with her husband. She loved spending time with her entire family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed traveling with her husband of 64 years. Her family would like to thank the staff at Laurel View Village for their care and compassion. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2026 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Entombment, Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Benedict Catholic Church or Laurel View Village Caring Fund, 2000 Cambridge Dr., Davidsville, PA 15928 in memory of Ruth H. Boes.
