Dottie Ann Hudson

HUDSON---Dorothy Ann “Dottie,” 86, Johnstown, passed away with her husband by her side at home on Sept. 28, 2026. Born May 28, 1940, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, daughter of James and Lucy (Taormina) Jardina. Preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Young, and brother, Michael Jardina. Survived by husband of 66 years, Jerry Hudson; sons, Jerry Hudson Jr. (Jan), Mark Hudson (Amy) and Scott Hudson (Robin). Dorothy adored her granddaughters, Jordy Ebert (Bill), Jamie Hudson, Emma Hudson and Faith Hudson, and her grandson, Nicholas Chiesa. Her great-grandsons, Carson Ebert and Jace Ebert delighted her. Also survived by brothers, James Jardina Jr. (Sandy) and Joseph Jardina (Joann), and sister, Jean Lynch (Joseph). Dorothy was 1959 graduate of Richland High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry, in 1960. Together they raised three boys. Dorothy was the quintessential mom: great cook, great host, made the home the center of neighborhood activity. Her Italian dinners and Christmas Eve feasts are legendary. Later in life, she became the best grandmother, delightfully doting on the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In fact, she was so genetically predisposed to being a grandmother she extended this same love to children of friends and neighbors. It cannot be stated too strongly that the community in which she lived and the church she attended provided her with friendships and life experiences that brought her joy. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. at West Hills Community Church, 175 Woodmont Road, Johnstown. Please do not send flowers, Dottie didn't like flowers. Instead, please make a contribution to the West Hills Community Church in Dottie's name.
