POTE--Marjorie L., 81, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026. Born January 22, 1945 in Bakerstown, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Lipcosky. Wife of 49 years to the late Dr. Harry H. Pote Jr. Survived by children Timothy (Beth), Michael (Tiffany) and Kristin (Anthony); Grandchildren Jazmyne Kuhn, Emma, Jasper, Nicholas and Harrison Pote. Sister of the late Dolores Lipcosky. Sister-in-Law to John and Judy Pote. Aunt to Jeff (Bridget) Pote, John Pote, late Jeff Gray and Lisa Higgins. Great Aunt to Ryan Pote and survived by numerous cousins, relatives and friends. Marge was a Graduate of Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She married her beloved husband in 1970 and relocated to Johnstown, Pennsylvania in 1975. Marge raised her family in Johnstown and was her children’s biggest fan. She loved gathering with others, celebrating life and enjoyed travel. She enjoyed having her hands in the dirt gardening and cooking beautiful meals to share and with others. Marge could often be found golfing with friends, knitting with the ladies or on the sidelines cheering on her children with a cowbell in hand. Marge loved living in Florida and spending many years fishing in Alaska with her family. She was a fierce lover of her inner circle and her friends have always been considered family. Marge knew how to light up a room and love everyone in it, she earned her trademark name “Marge in charge” with her demanding presence. She enjoyed dancing and cocktails with her husband Harry and watching her children evolve into adulthood. She loved her grandchildren with her entire heart. Marge will forever be remembered for her dedication to her family and friends and a true lover of life. Marge knew how to have fun and always had an open door of kindness with a little side of spice. She always left the porch light on. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. In lieu of flowers, Marge’s family suggests donations to charities supporting the arts, music and athletics. Donations to Parkinson’s research is also welcomed.
