Lokesak – Charles J., 91, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2026 at his residence. Born on August 13, 1935 in Johnstown, son of Charles and Eileen (Darney) Lokesak. Preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Walter Oleshefski; wife, Dorothy M. (Rychak) Lokesak; brother, Donald, and his beloved companion, Piper.
He is survived by his loving step children, Dr. John (Rebecca) Rychak, Wayne (Colleen) Rychak, Deborah (Donald) Miller, and Mark (Deborah) Rychak; grandchildren, Justin (Atty. Laura) Rychak, Dr. Christy (Joshua) Gardner, Leigh (Thomas) Panetti, Jessica (Todd) Crane, Dr. Joshua (Dr. Emily) Rychak, Charity (Greg) Delaney, Ryan (Ashley) Rychak, and Kate Rychak, and her fiancé, Jeremy Williams; great grandchildren, Sydney, Ashlyn, Elijah, Cole, Gavin, Jude, Isaac, William, Anderson, Maddy, Theo, Autumn, Alexandria, Christian, Livy, Charlie, and Eliza; sister-in-law, Arlene Lokesak; nephew, Marc Lokesak, and niece, Carol Zelenski and their families.
Charles was a graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Charles was a retired “displaced” steel worker from Bethlehem Steel. He enjoyed golfing with long time buddies, Fr. Joe Kapusnak and Lou Furman, as well as fishing at Mark’s camp. Charles loved eating Dorothy’s great cooking, and taking Piper for drive thru burgers, but most of all spending time with his entire family.
At Charles’s request, there will be no public viewing. Private inurnment will be held at Grandview Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Charles.
