Stanley J. Fisher Jr.

June 20, 1944 — December 22, 2022

Fisher Jr. – Stanley J. "Benny” of Vinco died December 22, 2022 after a short bout with colon cancer. Born June 20, 1944, in Portage, PA, he was the son of Mary (Fordick) Galioto and the step-son of Philip Galioto.

 

He is survived by his faithful wife of fifty-five years, Joan "Joanie" (Angus) Fisher of Vinco; daughters Teresa Fisher of Vinco and Kathleen (Fisher) Willason of Richland; grandchildren Margaret, Julia and Tavin Willason, all of Richland; brother and sister Joseph Galioto of Portage and Joan (Galioto) Valentine, wife of F. Michael Valentine of Bellefontaine, OH; brother-in-law the late Gary Angus and sister-in-law Rita Angus of Southmont; and the following nieces and nephew: Melissa Galioto of Portland, ME, Maryanne (Galioto) Dibbins of Hollidaysburg, Cassandra (Valentine) Gaona of Oceanside, CA, Karen (Angus) La Mendola of Bonita Springs, FL, and Jeffrey Angus of Alva, FL.

 

Stan started his career as the Penn Traffic beautician known as "Stanley the Scissor Wizard," followed by a long career at Sears as an appliance repairman. Because he believed in service to his community, he belonged to the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company, the Cambria County Volunteer Fire Association, the Boy Scouts of America, the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, and St. John Vianney Catholic Church. His hobbies included woodworking, fly fishing, and cutting the grass. Stan died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. 

 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of the celebration of his life at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 9th to be held at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, where Vigil for deceased will be held. All Saints Assembly will stand guard during the visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 3513 William Penn Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15909, by Fr. Timothy Harris, T.O.R. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.  Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.  Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
