Joan E. Kohler

KOHLER---Joan E., 95, Cover Hill, died peacefully October 30, 2026, in Johnstown at Heritage Ridge Senior Living. She was born and lived in Conemaugh Township, Cambria County for 80 years and at Graystone Manor. Born February 28, 1931, in Johnstown daughter of Melvin B. and Dorothea W. (Eck) Ribblett. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George F.; siblings, James Ribblett (Dolores), Barbara Kilk (Meart), Paul Ribblett (Ruth), T. Gene Ribblett and Karen Simons (John). Survived by children, Brenda Smith (David), Westmont; Victor Kohler (Robin), Johnstown; and Raymond Kohler (Marcia), Little River, South Carolina; grandchildren, Amy Lowery, Michael Kohler (Jennifer) and Janna Kohler and great-grandchildren, Shelby Lowery, Hemi Fulton, Jacob and Julia Kohler; also survived by sister-in-law, Patty Ribblett (dec. T. Gene Ribblett). Joan owned and operated Joan’s ceramics for over 20 years. She was a member of the Lee Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer for many years and Lee Hospital Gift Shop. She was also instrumental in their yearly charity ball. Joan was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for over 20 year and she served on the altar guild. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
