Marlin R. Yost

YOST---Marlin Ray “Sonny,” 83, East Conemaugh, went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 27, 2022, at home with his companion, Shirley Faight. Born July 31, 1938, in Davidsville, son of Dostas Elias and Amanda (Spiker) Yost. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Donna Mae (Avila) Yost, son, William Nickolas “Billy” Yost, brothers and sisters, Richard Yost, James Yost, Grace Boyer, Catherine Kulich, Marge Huber and twins, Robert and Shirley Yost. Survived by companion, Shirley Faight and her family, his sons, Luis Dean Yost, Johnstown, David John Yost, Johnstown, Anthony Ray “Tony” Yost, Somerset, sister, Dorothy Peterson, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marlin was a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School, Somerset County. He was retired from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital and was also employed by Superior Sales of Johnstown. He was a member of the Conemaugh Church of the Brethren and also attended First United Methodist Church in Conemaugh. He was involved with Conemaugh Valley Youth League where he coached the Conemaugh Eagles. Marlin enjoyed bowling, road trips, camping, boating, fishing, a frustrating round of golf and just spending time with family and friends. There will be no visitation or funeral service. The family is being served by Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
