Catherine L. Stehnach

STEHNACH----Catherine L., 93, Johnstown, passed away April 4, 2024. Born Sept. 14, 1930, in Johnstown, daughter of Stephen and Anna (Missinay) Novotny. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Samuel Stehnach Sr., brothers and sisters, Albert, Joe, Steve, Frank, Anna Galus, Mary Plonka and Margaret Hawk. Survived by children, Samuel Stehnach Jr. “Duke” (Patti Anne), Virginia; Patty Dorofey (the late James), Johnstown and Christopher Stehnach (Jill), Sewickley; Christine, Thomas and Mary Kay; Brent, Jason and Jimmy (Liz); and Matthew; also survived by great-grandchildren, James, Meline and Autumn. Catherine was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She loved her family very much. Her religion and her church were very important to her. Her grandson Jason was a very big part of her life and he took care of many things for her. Member of the Church of the Transfiguration, where Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, with Very Rev. James F. Crookston officiating. Catherine’s family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Committal, Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions to Church of the Transfiguration, 220 Oak St., Johnstown, PA 15909 in memory of Catherine L. Stehnach.
