Fetcik, Betty I, 89, formerly of Franklin Borough, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022 surrounded by her devoted family at her daughter’s residence in Princeton Junction, NJ. She was born on October 20, 1932, in Franklin Borough. Daughter of the late George Sr. and Helen (Masich) Yanko. Also preceded in death by her loving husband, John Fetcik; brothers, Frank, John, Pete, Steve, George Jr. and Mike. And sisters, Mary Michnya, Ann Boryk, and Helen Woolf. She is survived by her loving children; Cynthia, wife of Rick Visovsky, New Jersey, and John Michael, Franklin. Loving grandchildren, Richard and Caroline Visovsky both of New Jersey. Also survived by Gail (Smithbower) Yanko, Bon Air and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1951 graduate of Franklin Borough High School (Blue Jays). She belonged to many organizations which included the former SGT. Michael Strank V.F.W., Post # 5107; Conemaugh F.O.E. #1811, Conemaugh-Franklin American Legion, Post #633 and Conemaugh Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary Member, past President of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Conemaugh and past President of St. Ann’s Guild and the Rosary Society. She was a devoted and loving mother to her 2 children, Cyndi and John Michael. Her grandson, Richard and granddaughter, Caroline will always cherish the great times she spent with them. Betty had various hobbies which included Sunday night BINGO, casino trips to Atlantic City, and Duck Pin bowling in which she won numerous championships and high score series. She was a devoted Byzantine Catholic, who made yearly pilgrimages to Mt. St. Macrina in Uniontown. Betty touched everyone’s lives by her kind and generous heart. She will truly be missed by her family and wonderful caring friends. Friends will be received from 5:30 - 8:30 P.M. on Sunday, May 1st, at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street Conemaugh, where Rosary will be said at 6 P.M. and Parastas will be held at 6:30 P.M. A brief Prayer Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, May 2nd, at the funeral chapel followed by Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Rev. Dr. Robert F. Oravetz. Committal service will be held at Holy Trinity Church Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 217 4th Street, Conemaugh, PA 15909 in memory of Betty.
