William A. Gallus Sr.

GALLUS—William A. Sr. “Bill,” 85, Davidsville, formerly of Richland Township, died June 2, 2025 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born June 3, 1939, son of William J. and Julia W. (Gaydos) Gallus. Preceded in death by parents and grandson, Timothy J. Gallus. Survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years, Linda (Thomas) Gallus; sons, William A. Jr., married to Gina (Mellott) of Iowa and Brian T. Gallus, married to Laura (Smith) of York; grandchildren, Nicholas, Heather and Ryan Gallus and Cayla (Jack) Hofmann. Brother of Richard (Lois) Gallus. Bill was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a registered Professional Engineer and a Licensed Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania. He retired from Penelec in 1994 as the Director of Transmission Engineering and Operations. Bill was a member of the Richland Township Planning Commission for 14 years and served as its Chairman for 11 of those years. Upon retirement from Penelec he joined Habitat for Humanity of Cambria County where he provided surveying service and performed electrical, plumbing, heating and gas installation for 13 years. Bill was a jack of all trades and helped people in many ways, including donating 15 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. He will be greatly missed. Bill and Linda enjoyed hiking, camping and spending time with their sons and their families. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Private entombment, Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
