Primel – Violet, 94, Mineral Point, went to be with the Lord on October 13 at home. Born on November 1, 1924 in Johnstown, daughter of Arthur and Ivy (Rager) Rummel. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband Neal Primel; brother, Paul Rummel and Donald Rummel; sister, Betty Jane Keiper; son, Ron Primel; granddaughters, Tressa Mae Primel, Cheri Gifford, and Denise Megahey, and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Primel. She is survived by sons, Rene, Manns Choice, PA, Rudy, Albany, OH, and Ray Primel, Mineral Point PA; daughter, Robin, wife of Louis VanEerden, Dover PA; grandchildren, Ronda and Randy Gillespie, Faron Primel, Michele Tunstall, Cherry Joy Dixon, Lucas Primel, Amanda Holt, Caleb, Levi, Micah, Ian, Shyloh, Faith, Mazie, Benjamin, Eli, Josiah Primel, Eric Gerber, John Bailey, Cody Nicholson, and Jeanette, Marissa, Briana, Kalyn, and Madison Van Eerden; many greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews. Violet was a graduate of Ferndale High School. She enjoyed yard sales and gospel as well as country music. Violet was a lay-speaker and played the piano at her church for numerous years. She loved spending time with both her family and church family. Violet also loved being a foster grandparent. She was a champion at any word game. Violet will be greatly missed. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh and from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Marjorie L. Kiefer and Rev. Ruth Ann Moore officiating. Private interment will be at Headrick Union Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 2567 Benshoff Hill Road, Johnstown, PA 15909 or to the Cambria County Christian School, 561 Pike Road, Johnstown PA 15909 in memory of Violet.
