Thomas L. Donaldson

Donaldson – Thomas L., 86, Johnstown, passed away on March 29, 2024 at his residence. Born on February 6, 1938 in Johnstown, son of Francis Clyde and Theresa Mary (Haughton) Donaldson. Preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Vicki L. Sliwa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janet E. (Ritter) Donaldson; daughter, DiAnna L. (Robert) Burkhart, Richland; grandchildren, Eric E. (Janice) Farkas, Washington, PA, Michael V. (Laura) Sliwa, and Marie V. Sliwa, all of Michigan City, IN; several nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Lele. 

Tom was a 1956 graduate of Richland High School. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, where he was a financial assistant. Tom retired from Bethlehem Steel after 57 years of service as a Safety Engineer. He was also a 50 year member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Tom and Janet were members of Greater Johnstown Saddle Club. They both enjoyed square dancing at Track II Square Dance Club. He was involved in the Genealogical Society. Tom enjoyed gardening and wood working. He loved his horses and Lele, but especially loved his family.

At Tom‘s request, there will be no public viewing. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 8^th, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richand, with the Rev. Douglas Knupp officiating. Inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Humane Society of Cambria County 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Thomas.
