BOYKIN----Theotis “Otis,” 71, Ambridge, formerly of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Ambridge. Born on April 25,1954, in Johnstown, PA to Charlie and Jurettia Boykin. Proceeded in death by parents and wife Brenda (Yancey) Boykin and stepfather Walter Montgomery. Survived by son, Carlos Cashaw (Melissa) of Oklahoma, grandchildren Kaci Jean (Jermey) of Arizona, Gabriel Dunlap of Oklahoma and DaShauna Hardison of Johnstown and 5 great grandchildren. Stepsister Pamela Nash, Johnstown, PA, Aunts Irene James, Alabama, Ruth Holifield and Mattie Charles. Also survived by a host of cousins and friends. Special traveling partners Fred Boykin, O’ Neil Boykin, Derek Boykin and Richard Kennedy. Special friend Paul Veney. Otis was a 1972 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. Otis was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Otis retired from the City of Johnstown Finance department. He also worked at Shop N Save in Cranberry, PA. Otis was a member of the Laurel Highlands Mopar Club and he loved to build model cars and race them. He also enjoyed building train sets.
Committal will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA where U.S. Navy military rites will be conducted. Please visit www.cem.va.gov for directions, policies and further details about the cemetery.
