Also preceded in death by her beloved father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Mabel McMillan. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard, who was the love of her life.  Also survived by her children Eric (Angela) and Doug (Jeannine).  Her pride and joy were her four amazing grandchildren, Kali (Nathan) Pepper, Julia Burkhard, Josalyn and Cody McMillan, and her great-granddaughter, Cambria Pepper. Shelly was blessed with a remarkable family, who are known for their large picnics, family game nights and Steelers watch parties.  She is survived by her siblings Louis (Mary Claire) Miller, Becky (Tim) Skibo, Janet (William) Thomas, Jimmy (Penny) Miller and Scott (Dawn) Miller, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  She is also survived by her parakeet, Tweety, and her golden retriever, Lily, who was a fixture in the backseat of the car everywhere they went. Over the years, Shelly worked at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Crichton Rehabilitation Center, and prior to her retirement, as a Certified Dialysis Technician at DaVita Dialysis.  She had many hobbies including jewelry making, cooking, hiking, and scrapbooking. Her peanut butter fudge and fried haddock were legendary.  She loved to travel, and she, her husband, and dog logged thousands of miles on cross country and local drives, exploring every hiking trail imaginable. Shelly will be remembered for her amazing spirit, infectious smile, big hugs, and love for her family. Private funeral arrangements will be coordinated by Harris Funeral Home, with a celebration of life gathering of family at a later date.
