LEPTER—Shelby J., 76, Sidman, passed away March 18, 2026 at home. Born Feb. 7, 1950 in Johnstown, daughter of Bernard J. and Betty J. (Hunter) McAteer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald and infant twin brother and sister and infant brother. Survived by sister, Dianne Thomas and husband, David, Walnut Grove and brother Brian and wife, Sharon (Custer), Ferndale; nephew, Ben McAteer, Ferndale and niece, Sarah Fenwick and husband, Lucas, New Mexico; great-nephew, Benny McAteer and her beloved dog, Mallory AKA “Bug.” Shelby was an X-Ray technologist and she worked at Mercy Hospital until it became a part of Conemaugh and later worked at the Breast Care Center in Richland. Shelby loved animals and was a supporter of the Cambria and Somerset Humane Societies. She was a great sister and friend who will be sorely missed. Shelby’s family would like to thank Jim, Adam and Doug for all of their assistance. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Pastor Carol Hickman officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cambria County Humane Society, 743 Galleria Dr. Ext., Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Shelby J. Lepter.
