Lu Ann and Skip and your families, you have my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved mother. I remember going to your mom & dads house many many years ago with Uncle Ed. And I would often run into your mom at the bowling alley. She was just a sweet lady. She is now with your dad rejoicing in heaven. Rest in Peace Sally.

This photo of your mom was in the 1975 RHS yearbook.

Dear Skip and Lu Ann, you have my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved mother, she was a joy.

My memories of "Mrs. Ringler" long pre-date seeing her in the Main Office of RHS upon arriving for my sophomore year. As you well remember from our early childhood Skip, your house on Rosewood Street was one of the "go to" locations for those of us lucky to live there. With the Rubritz, Solich, Brandon, Palm, Barbara, and Edmonds families, there were ALWAYS enough kids for a pick-up game of baseball, a heated assault on Mr. Ruth’s wall while playing “Army”, or sled riding down Beechwood Street before the salt trucks ruined the hill. During those idyllic days in the early to mid-60s, your mom was always ready with a band-aide or glass of cool-aide.

At RHS, her gentle demeanor and genuine compassion softened the need to visit the "Main Office". Whether I was there to drop off an attendance slip, to complain about a headache in hopes of catching a few ‘Zs’ in health, or because my disruptive behavior, rare though it was, required a dreaded visit with the principal.

Even 47 years later, I can clearly visualize her standing behind the counter inside the office with her easy smile of recognition and her her say, “What have you done now Robbie?” No one but you and your mother called me Robbie at RHS, and after you graduated Skip, she was the last.

Sally Ringler was a "second-mom" to anyone in need. And she embraced that role for countless Richland High School students, teachers, and administrators, as well as a ton of kids in Geistown. We all carry similar memories of basking in the glow of her kindhearted nature.

How blessed we were to have her in our lives . . .
