WEAVER---Samuel A. “Abe,” 81, Richland, died May 3, 2023. Born September 19, 1941, in Johnstown, son of Howard and Ruth (Luther) Weaver. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John “Jack,” Robert, William, Richard and Tom Weaver; grandson, Daniel Wright, brother-in-law, Tony Schreyer and beloved mother-in-law, Betty Sell. Survived by beloved wife of 24 years; Linda (Sell) Fyock-Weaver; loving father of Barbara (James) Wright, Richard Weaver, Christian (Denise) Fyock and Ryan Fyock; devoted grandfather of Bailey Wright, Payden Wright, Collin Weaver, Nathan Weaver, Kallie Weaver, Jessie (Crystal) Fyock, Shane (Erika) Fyock, McKenna (Chris) Hardt, Dylan (Chey) Fyock, Gabrial Fyock and Derek Fyock; great-grandfather of Layla, Caylee, Caleb, Landon, Kade and Emmaleigh. Brother of Margaret (Robert) Hilleary, Florida and Sandra (Weaver) Schreyer, Arkansas. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Abe served in the US Army for 21 years. He was (as the saying goes) a dyed in the wool true American. He loved his country. God Bless America! He served during the Vietnam War receiving the National Defense Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, Gallantry medal, Good conduct medal, Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Abe was a kind, generous and caring man who spread joy and happiness wherever he went. Abe was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Go Chiefs! To honor Abe's memory, the family will hold a graveside service for family and friends at 11 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2023 at the new Soldier's Circle 2 Flag Plaza at Richland Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the Menoher VFW Post #155 ritual team. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to South Fork VFW Post #7524, 415 Maple St., South Fork, PA 15956 or a charity of your choice in memory of Samuel A. Weaver.
