BLANEY---Ronald Lee, 79, Johnstown, passed away on September 29, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Born July 8, 1945 in Tunnelton, WVA, son of Edward Carl and Martha Kathleen (Loraw) Blaney. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife of 58 years, Linda Mae (Johnson) Blaney; daughter, Michelle Lee Blaney; sisters, Janice Carol Shaw and Beatrice Kay Carlo; numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was a 1964 graduate of University High School in Morgantown, WVA. He started his career as a histologist at West Virginia University, subsequently moving to Johnstown in 1966. He graduated in 1979 from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor of Science degree double majoring in Biology and Chemistry. He was the supervisor of the Anatomical Pathology Lab at Lee Hospital which later became UPMC Lee. He also worked at additional area hospitals in a part-time capacity. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Ronald was a member of the National Rifle Association, Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association, and a life member of the Daisytown Sportsmen’s Club. He had a lifetime love of the outdoors and spent many hours caring for his vegetable garden. At Ronald’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
