Roger S. Shumaker

SHUMAKER---Roger S., 68, Summerhill, left his home on October 4, 2022 to take his place in Heaven. Born September 24, 1954, in Johnstown, son of Rosella Mozi. Preceded in death by mother. Survived by best friend and wife of 45 years, Janet E. (Hogue), whom he married September 24, 1977; step-children, James Leibfreid (Janice), Johnstown; Michael Leibfreid (Andrea), Johnstown; Terry Leibfreid (Linda), West Palm Beach, FL; Kristin Schenkemeyer (Kurt), Salix; brothers, Larry Shumaker (Sandra), Johnstown and Michael Mozi (Rita), Johnstown. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and golfing buddies Dennis and Rick. Roger was USMC and PA National Guard veteran. He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in Cresson for 25 years. He enjoyed carpentry, time on his Harley and playing with the kids. He was a longtime member of the Richland American Legion, Post #849. A time of remembrance will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Richland American Legion, 390 Oakridge Dr., Johnstown. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home. after graduating high school in 1973. We
