HAYES—Robert H., 59, Johnstown, passed away on May 19, 2024 at home. Born August 8, 1964, Johnstown, son of Robert D. and Dennice E. (Ruff) Hayes. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by son Robert Tyler Hayes and wife, Bethany (McDonald), Carrolltown; grandchildren, Ayden, Hannah, Laya and Ellie; sister, Ann Hayes, Geistown; nephew, Mark, Geistown and great-niece, Ruby. Also survived by uncle, P. James Hayes, Geistown. Bobby was a municipal police officer for many local communities but he was most proud of the time he served on the Johnstown Police Department. In his later years, he worked as a foreman in the construction industry. Bobby had a great passion for football whether it was playing, coaching or reminiscing. He was proud of being a Johnstown Trojan and of his Irish Catholic Heritage. Bobby was loved by the community and was dedicated to helping the people he served. He was a great father and a great friend to those who knew him. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, followed by Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, with Very Rev. Matthew Baum, Rector, St. John Gualbert Cathedral officiating. Committal, Richland Cemetery with graveside rites by American Legion, Post #294 Ritual Team.
