Patricia L. Oleksa

Oleksa – Patricia L., “Pattie”, 72, East Conemaugh, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on November 26, 1950 in Johnstown, daughter of Samuel and Bessie A. (Gasior) Gvozdich. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sylvia Jean Thomas and her husband, Maurice Thomas and numerous aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her loving sons, Anthony P., East Conemaugh, Nicholas J. (Jennifer) Johnstown, and Michael D., Johnstown; grandchildren, Michael A. Jordan E., Carly L., Jacob R., Christian S., and Tyler J.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, including special cousin, Loretta Kalinyak, and many friends.

Pattie was a 1968 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. She was employed as a beautician for many years. Later in life she was a cake decorator and floral arranger. Pattie was proud of her Polish and Serbian heritage. She had a deep faith in God and enjoyed praying the Rosary and singing church songs. It was her faith that carried her from day to day and gave her strength. More than anything, Pattie loved her family dearly.

At Pattie’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, in memory of Patricia.
