Norman Snyder

Snyder – Norman Edward, 69, Richland, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2024. Born on March 7, 1954 in Johnstown, son of Edward and Dorothy E. (Bridges) Snyder. Preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Hannah; mother-in-law, Betty Friedman; father-in-law, Bill Friedman, and sister, Connie Seman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice A. (Friedman) Snyder; daughters, Laura E. (Edward III) Wingard, Sarah A. (Jake) Dininny, and Lydia M. Snyder all of Richland; grandchildren, Illyanna G., and Stella R. Dininny, Edward J. IV, Elizabeth G. Wingard, and another on the way; sisters, Carole (Bill) Vail, State College, PA, and Kathy Johnson, Phillipsburg, PA; sister-in-law, Linda Erwin, Richland, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. 

Norm was a 1972 graduate of Bishop McCort Catholic High School. He was retired from Schwebel Baking Company after 15 years of service as a Route Supervisor. Norm enjoyed giving back by coaching his daughters’ youth baseball and basketball teams. He loved his dogs, Gary, Benny, and Roxy. Norm will be remembered for his great sense of humor and quick wit. His family would like to thank everyone who assisted with Norm’s care over the last year; especially Arbutus Park Manor, Crossroads Unit, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, and AseraCare Hospice.

At Norm’s request, there will be no public viewing, Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from noon until time of Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland with the Rev. James Gay officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Norman.
