Nancy L. Washington

Wahington, Nancy L., 68, Conemaugh, entered into eternal rest May 25, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 11, 1942, in Daisytown Borough, daughter of the late Edgar J. and Marie T. (Neisner) Washington. Also preceded in death by brother, Edward H.; and sister, Donna L. Galasso; also dear friend, Florence Korcel. Sister of Joseph F., married to the former Bettie Slick; Raymond E., married to the former Debbie Freidhoff; and Judith A. Hewitt, all of Johnstown. Also survived by goddaughters, Kristy M. Capizzi and Patricia J. Wonders; and numerous nieces and nephews. Formerly employed at Monte Carlo Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts of York and Johnnie’s Restaurant & Lounge. Member of Church of the Transfiguration, where she served as Eucharistic minister and a member of the Rosary Society. She was a wonderful and loving lady with a heart of gold who had a great work ethic and loved to cook. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of the Transfiguration, Father Robert C. Hall, pastor. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery. Geistown.
