CANNIN---Nancy Lee, 80, Salix, went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2023. Born January 24, 1943 in Dunlo, daughter of James and Daisy (Yarnell) White. Preceded in death by her parents, aunt, Edna Yarnell, brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Virginia Marson beloved brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam Traponotto and Rose Marie (Cannin) Trapanotto. Survived by her husband of 54 years Charles “Chuck” Cannin and her son, James Cannin of Pittsburgh; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great- nieces and great-great nephews; and many dear and close friends. Nancy was a graduate of Adams Twp. High school, class of 1960; and a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a degree in Elementary Education in 1964. She was a loyal and dedicated Elementary School Teacher at the Forest Hills School District for 30 years, where she guided and impacted many young lives. Upon retiring, she loved reading books and tending to her flowers; and she also spent many years volunteering at the Highland Community Library in Richland. She enjoyed visiting casinos and greatly enjoyed her monthly luncheons with other retired Forest Hills teachers at Hossʼs in Richland. Thanks to her sonʼs love of hockey, she was an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Penguins for 35 plus years, along with being a fan of the Pirates and Steelers as well. Nancy was a faithful member of the Bethel United Methodist church in her hometown of Salix. The family will receive friends and family from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 3, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Rev. Don Poole officiating. Her final resting place will be at St Anthony’s Cemetery in Geistown.
