Michael R. Meier

Meier – Michael R. Jr., 39, Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2018. Born on July 2, 1978 in Johnstown, son of Michael R. and Linda Susan (Petrunak) Meier. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Helen Petrunak, and uncle, David Meier. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his sister, Sarah R. and brother, Allen J., married to the former Alexis Strothman, all of Pittsburgh; nephews, Max and Declan Meier; paternal grandparents, Robert J. and Delores (Krouse) Meier, Beaverdale, PA; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Mikie was a 1997 graduate of Richland High School. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Mikie was formerly employed at WALMART, Bestform and Kuchera Industries. He enjoyed Starbucks Coffee and playing Michael Meyers in the Wicked Woods during Halloween week. Mikie also enjoyed Sunday Night Mixers at Richland Lanes. He loved to laugh and play Texas hold ‘em. Mikie was a friend of God, who was a devout Catholic. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore, PA. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Epilepsy Foundation of America, 8301 Professional Pl # 200, Landover, MD 20785 in memory of Michael.
