FLYNN----Michael P. “Mickey,” 84, Johnstown, passed away on the morning of December 27, 2020. Born March 29, 1936 son of Frank L. and Helen (Clinger) Flynn. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Frank, Richard and Mary Louise Flynn. Mickey leaves behind his wife, Carolyn “Rae” Flynn and his four children, Michael (Betsy), David (Deborah) Flynn, Alan (Laura) Flynn and Kathleen (Ron) Suvak; grandchildren, Patrick Flynn, Cristy (PJ) Luksik, Aubrey (Luke) Fragello, Andrea Flynn, Jude Suvak and Jordan Suvak; and great-grandchildren, Flynn and Rowan Fragello. Mickey was an Army veteran who attended UPJ and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He worked at JARI and later he became the Director of Development and Public Affairs for UPJ where he retired as the Vice-President of Institutional Advancement for the university. Mickey loved staying home with his wife Rae. He was a Pirate’s baseball fan and always had a pack of gum in his pocket. He enjoyed a big bowl of chocolate ice cream every night. He was a devoted husband to Rae and dedicated his life selflessly to caring for her. Their marriage to one another was an amazing example of what true love looks like. Mickey also showed his love to his children and grandchildren. He was always willing to do whatever he could to help the ones he loved. Mickey’s family member’s hearts are full of precious memories with him. Memories of Mickey showing up to countless sporting events, having the entire family over for the holidays, enduring surprise parties, attending graduations, teaching them valuable life lessons and supporting them through every milestone in life. Mickey will be dearly missed by his family. We hope that he is enjoying a giant scoop of chocolate ice cream in heaven. At Mickey’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Committal, Richland Cemetery. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
