Mary Jo Hall

Hall – Mary Jo, 97, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2022 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on December 4, 1925 in Johnstown, daughter of Francis P. and Helen M. (Kelley) Hamilton. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years, James M. Hall; children, Elaine A. and her husband, Harold Peterson; son, James F. Hall; infant son, Vincent Hall; granddaughters, Christine and Amy Pudliner; grandson, James R. Hall, and siblings, Patsy, Lois, and F. Paul Hamilton. Mary Jo was the last surviving member of the Hamilton family.

 

She is survived by her loving children, Fr. Robert C. Hall, East Conemaugh, Mary Beth (Thomas) Pudliner, Geistown Borough, and Deacon John (Mary Beth) Hall, Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Matthew Peterson, Houston, TX, Thomas (Jacquelyn) Pudliner, Leesburg, VA, David Pudliner, Johnstown, Julie Hall, Chapel Hill, NC; great grandchildren, Tommy, Joe, Jacob and Katie Pudliner, all of Leesburg, VA; daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Hall, Alta Loma, CA; several nieces, nephews, and her faithful dog, Beau.

 

Mary Jo was a graduate of the former Johnstown Catholic High School. She was employed at Johnstown Bank and Trust as a Bookkeeper for several years and later at Lopresti’s Market in Geistown. Mary Jo was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of its’ Widows Group. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her late husband, James. Mary Jo also enjoyed sewing and will be remembered for her many beautiful projects. She loved entertaining and always had Sunday dinners at her house. Everyone was always welcomed at her home, even the local teenagers would end up at her house. Mary Jo will be missed by all.

 

Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, with her son, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor, and Deacon John P. Hall. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church, Renovation Fund, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Mary Jo.
