Kiniry – Marlene J., 80, Johnstown. Went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2019. Born on February 20, 1939 in Washington, PA. Daughter of Kenneth Calvin and Sylvia Iona (Dillie) Schmidt. Preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Rosanne McCabe; daughter, Patricia J. “Patty”; son, Alan L.; maternal grandmother, Hazel Kritzer; infant twin sister, Arlene, and a great grandson, Talin Dugger. Survived by her former husband, Gerald J. Kiniry and his longtime partner, Bonnie Zemba, both of South Fork; children, Lynn A. Dugger, Johnstown and Gerry J., (Bradley) Kiniry-Rorabaugh, Johnstown; grandchildren, Jessica A. Weidner and Joshua W. Dugger, and great-grandchildren, Jillian, John, Jase, Jenavieve, Jarrett, Ayden, Bryson, and Isabelle; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Rorabaugh, Houston, TX; siblings, Janice Robertson, Johnstown, Marion (Bernard “Bud”) Weiland, North Olmsted, OH, and, Kenneth J. Schmidt, Johnstown, and many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Ferndale Area Junior-Senior High School, where she was an active member of the school choir, plays and cheerleading squad, as well as a member of the well-known Ferndale Trio. Marlene was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she was head coach for the girls’ basketball team for many years. She was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Allegheny Lutheran Home and later the Arbutus Park Manor. Marlene also served as a Private Duty Nurse’s Aide to individuals within the community for many years. At Marlene’s request there will be no public viewing or services. Family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
