Dunmeyer – Marjorie A., “Marge”, 89, Johnstown, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2026. Born on September 5, 1936 in Johnstown, daughter of Stanford D. and Margaret (Kristoff) Gates. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester J. Dunmeyer Sr.; son, Shawn P. Dunmeyer, and brothers, Wesley Gates and Owen Gates.

She is survived by her loving sons; Scott A. (Mary) Dunmeyer, Johnstown, and Craig W. Sr. (Dawn) Dunmeyer, Johnstown; grandchildren, Alan, Tyler, and Alex Kretz, Meagan (Anthony) Plows, Craig Jr. and his fiancée, Cheyenne Damaris, Shane Dunmeyer, Mikayla (Gavin) Doane, Elizabeth (DeVonté) Jordon, and Michael Sauro; great grandchildren, Sophia Kretz, Emmerson and Jocelyn Kretz, Harmony and Vernon Plows, Samantha Dunmeyer, Taylor, Kade, and Beckham Doane, and Sylas Sauro; sister, Shirley (Stan) Wozniak, Windber and several nieces and nephews.

Marge was a 1947 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. She later graduated in 1956 from Mercy School of Nursing, where she was employed until 1977. Marge was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Johnstown. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marge enjoyed a hot cup of tea in the evenings while watching NCIS. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her philosophy for everything life threw at her, being big or small, was summed up in one simple phrase, which was “whatever”. Marge’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Heritage Ridge Senior Living and Penn Hospice for the excellent care they gave her.

At Marge’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. Private inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Marjorie.
