Marilyn L. Locher

LOCHER – Marilyn L., 88, Johnstown, died August 1, 2023, at Laurel View Village.  Born August 25, 1934, in South Fork, daughter of the late James and Olive Jarvie.  Also preceded in death by husband of 56 years, William J. Locher, Sr., grandson Evan Locher, and brother James Jarvie.  Survived by children, William (Stacey), James (Carol), Karen Rosensteel (Paul), and Vincent (Lari); 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sister Jean Roseman and former daughter-in-law Marianne  Locher.  She was a woman of great faith that she shared with her family and with her church, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran where she was an active member.  She served as a faithful volunteer at the West End Food Pantry for more than 35 years.  She spent her last 4 years at Laurel View Village where she continued to live out her Christian faith and was loved by many.  Marilyn was a gentle person who loved unconditionally and was a joy to her husband, family, and friends.  Friends will be received Friday from 3 to 7 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral service will be held at 10: 30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Evangelical Church, 1344 Virginia Ave., Susan Mentzer, SAM, and the Reverend Elizabeth Locher, officiating.  Interment, Grandview Cemetery.  In memory of Marilyn, memorial donations may be directed to Laurel View Village, 2000 Cambridge Dr., Davidsville, PA 15928 (Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneral home.com)
