Margaret R. "Margie" Marron

MARRON---Margaret R. "Margie,” Richland, passed away April 9, 2020 in Johnstown after a short illness. Born March 6, 1948 in Windber, predeceased by parents, Inez (Comerer) and Thomas M. Marron and step-mother, Florence Cowan Marron.  Survived by sister, Mary Jane Bernier of Newton, MA, brother, Thomas W. Marron and Katherine (Liberator) Marron, Havre de Grace, MD, and devoted friend and companion, Joann Adams of Richland; Step-sisters and step-brothers, Charles and Debbie Cowan, Marcia Rossi, Dennis Cowan, of Johnstown; Gary and Nancy Cowan, Apex, NC.; nieces and nephews, Leah P. Marron of Havre de Grace, MD; George M. Bernier of Arlington, VA;  Elizabeth Bernier Lamont of Chestnut Hill, MA; grand nephews, Robinson and Duncan Lamont of Brookline, MA.; cousins and aunt, Margaret Norton of Springfield, VA; Mary Bartek of Centennial, CO; Louise Dugan of Huntington, PA;  Hamilton Marron of Willoughby Hills,Ohio, Joanne Marron of Richmond Heights, Ohio; Suzanne  Briggs of Medina, Ohio,  Katherine Traczyk of Oklahoma City, OK; Sally Boditch, Westerville, Ohio; Patricia Marron of Gainesville, FL;  Stephen Marron, Zephyrhills, FL and Pamela Boswell of Boca Raton, FL; Larry and Mary Margaret Wargo, Landsdowne, PA; and Sandra DiLauro, Drexel Hill, PA.  A 1966 graduate of Windber Area High School, Margie was employed at GTE/Verizon in Johnstown for 32 years, American Automobile Association in Richland, and was a long-time member and worker at the Windber Country Club. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. She loved the Steelers and Pirates and was an avid golfer and member of Windber Ladies Golf League and Atta Girls Golf League. Margie was a warm and welcoming person and always the life of the party where ever she went. She was always ready with a joke or funny story. Her circle of friends spread long and far and she will be missed by many. She was a friend to all and truly one of a kind. God rest her soul. Our family is deeply grateful to the doctors and nurses at Select Specialty Care in Johnstown for their compassionate care for Margie and family during this difficult time. A celebration of Margie's life will take place at a date to be determined in the future when it will be possible to gather in her honor. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
