LUCAS—Margaret K., 91, Richland, passed away on Aug. 3, 2024. Born May 2, 1933, in Johnstown, daughter of Dwight and Helen (Gleisner) Mowery. Preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters, Charlie Mowery, Bob Mowery, Elsie Garshnik, Dorothy Rager, Helen Boyer; grandsons Jeremiah Wirick and Justin Kuntz; great-grandson, Cody Weyant and daughter-in-law, Wanda Wirick. Survived by husband of 66 years, Robert P. Lucas, children, Linda McDowell (Barry), Mechanicsburg; Cloyd Wirick, Mineral Point; Brenda Laughrey, Myrtle Beach, SC; Dwight Wirick (Joan), Carlisle; Margaret Rodak (Mark), Camp Hill, PA; Helen Cuervo (Ray), Manassas, VA; and Bobbi Sue Kuntz, Richland; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Sister of Dwight Mowery, Washington D.C. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Margaret was a devoted wife and loving mother. The simplest pleasures of watching children at play, cooking, gardening and Saturday morning garage sale adventures brought great joy to her. Her welcoming home was filled with family, friends, laughter and unbridled chaos. Upon her passing, the postings on Facebook were overwhelming. “The most selfless person I have ever known.” “Always happy and full of love and joy.” “The one who defined family for us.” “Selfless, kind, generous, forgiving and a loving mother.” Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, with Fr.
