Margaret J. DeRubis

DeRubis, Margaret J., 82, of Jackson Township, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born on July 8, 1929 in Johnstown, daughter of Stephen and Anna (Long) Sroka. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Stephen S. and these sisters; Mary Visnick, Helen Stofko and Betty Sabol. She is survived by her loving sons, Patrick S. and Stephen J. (Karen Paserba); granddaughter, Amanda (Brett Blough); Great grandson; Hunter. Grandson, Jeremy DeRubis and Fiancée, Ashley (Wills). Sister of Dorothy Frick, Dolores Garson and John Sroka. Also 22 nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up to be young adults. Her great grandchild was very special to her. Friends will be received from 9 am to 11 am Saturday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, followed by Funeral Liturgy at Noon on Saturday at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Msgr. Raymond Balta. Committal will be at St Anthony’s Cemetery, Geistown. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Church of the Brethren Home, 277 Hoffman Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963  in memory of Margaret.
