ESPOSITO – Madeline, 85, Stonycreek Township, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2020 at Windber Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with diabetes. Born on May 3, 1934 in Johnstown, daughter of James and Ollie (DeFalco) DeRubis. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dominick, Geno, Frank; and sisters, Yolanda Marra, Minnie Marra, Lena Sidone, Ann Amistadi, Virginia Lees and Natalie DeRubis. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of close to 65 years, Ernest J. Esposito; daughters, Susan M. (Dean) Gindlesperger, Richland Township and Sharon M. (David Mayer) Esposito-Mayer, Clarksville, MD; grandchildren, Ryan Gindlesperger (Christie Cardellino), Matthew Gindlesperger and Madison Mayer: great-grandchildren, Riley, Madilyn and Ellie Gindlesperger who loved their “Gigi”; brother James DeRubis (Leni); sister-in-laws, Vera DeRubis (widow of Geno) and Jean Esposito (sister of Ernest);  brother-in-law, Joseph Esposito and wife Patricia and numerous nieces and nephews. Madeline was a wonderful and loving selfless person that continually gave of herself expecting nothing in return.  She enjoyed landscaping, flowers, cooking, shopping and decorating.  Madeline loved the home she built with her husband and working in her lawn, but above everything family was the most important thing to her. Her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters were her pride and joy. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Samir Hadeed for his exceptional care. Due to current health conditions, there will be no public viewing. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
