Leonard H. Lee Jr.

LEE---Leonard H. Jr. of Johnstown passed away on September 28, 2022, at his home at McCullough Place. He was born in 1931 in Madison Heights Virginia, son of Leonard H. Lee and Virginia Alcora (Carson) Lee. Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Sandra Z. (Schaeffer) Lee, son Andrew and his wife Carol (Babish), daughter Martha her husband Douglas Mackay, and grandchildren Robert Lee, Ryan Lee, John and Parijat Mackay, and Emily and Dylan King. He is also survived by his four brothers and their families in Virginia. Mr. Lee earned a degree in engineering from Virginia Tech in 1954. As a lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers he served in post- war Germany. He was assistant superintendent of Bethlehem Steel’s Car Shop and retired in the early 1990’s. He and his wife and friends traveled extensively together for many years after that. While at home he was very active in the Westmont Presbyterian Church, serving on many boards and committees. He was an avid gardener and a gregarious man who had a fantastic memory for people places and things. A memorial service will be held at Westmont Presbyterian Church, 601 Luzerne St., Johnstown, at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022. A private entombment service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
