Grecek, Leonard J., 73, of Johnstown. Died on March 16, 2020, at Myrtle Beach, S.C. Born May 12, 1946 in Altoona, PA, son of the late Frank and Helen (Smarto) Grecek. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeanne M. (Franke); sons, Leonard S. (Rachel) and their daughter Isabella, Allegheny Township; and Jeffrey (Madeline) and their children, Trenton, Devon and Emma, Johnstown; brother of Francis (Joan), Portage and Cynthia (Michael) Kline, Hastings; also, numerous nieces and nephews. A graduate of Portage High School. Leonard served in the U.S. Army and after discharged he attended Penn State University where he earned a Bachelors Degree. Leonard then attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Masters Degree in criminology. He worked in law enforcement and public office for his entire career, starting as a police officer in Baltimore, MD. After returning to Johnstown, Leonard worked as a probation officer in Cambria County and finished his career as a Magisterial District Judge in Johnstown. He was a member of Ss Gregory & Barnabas Church, VFW, Knights of Columbus and Daisytown Volenteer Fire Co. Due to the current public health concern there will be a private family gathering and Funeral Mass with Fr. Robert Ruston, officiating. Private Military Rites by Menoher Post 155 V.F.W Ritual Team. Private Committal Service. Family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.

Jeanne, Lenny, Jeff and family, our sincere condolences on your great loss. I will always remember fondly our golf outings and many good times. Len took me under his wing and taught me the job of probation officer. When he put his mind to something nothing could stop him! I pray for God's peace for you all.

We were very blessed to have Len as a friend. We have such good memories of the time we spent together in Myrtle Beach and we will miss him. Rest in peace Len, you deserve it.
