Laverne J. Caldwell

Caldwell, Laverne J., 80, of East Conemaugh Borough, passed away on January 11, 2011 at her residence. She was born on June 18, 1930 in Johnstown. Daughter of Henry and Margaret (Mlinarchin) Zilke. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Henry and Leonard. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William J, Caldwell; daughters, Jean M. wife of John E. Fyock, Penn Run, PA and Tracy A. Caldwell, Johnstown; grandchildren, Catherine Fyock, Merchantville, NJ, Sarah wife of Matthew Rapach, Clymer, Carolyn (Fyock) Foose, Millerstown, PA and Seth Fyock, Penn Run; great grandchildren, Abigail, David, and Nathan Rapach all of Clymer; brother, Donald Zilke, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Susan Zilke, Johnstown and niece, Carol Vigna, Johnstown. Laverne was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Cambria Rowe Business College. She was employed as a stenographer/secretary at the former National Radiator Company and later she went to work as a secretary at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Heilwood, PA. Laverne was a member of Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air and President of the Slovak Ladies Association, Branch 5. She enjoyed gardening, playing on the computer and loved spending time with her family. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday at Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Rev. Father Robert Ruston. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.
