Kenneth D. "Ken" Penrod

PENROD---Kenneth D., 90, Windber Woods, formerly of Richland Township, died June 3, 2022 at Windber Woods. Born January 17, 1932, in Windber, son of Floyd and Cleada (Moore) Penrod. Preceded in death by parents, infant brother, Ronald and Brother, Donald. Survived by wife, the former Phyllis A. Yoder; children; Sharon, wife of Wayne Kaufman, Davidsville; and Bryan, married to the former Dawn Zimmer, Windber; grandchildren; Kevin Kaufman (Katie), Chanhassen, MN., Keith Kaufman (Heather), Windber; Kelly, wife of Rev. Jonathan Mann, Groveport, OH and David Penrod, Richland; great-grandchildren, Emily and Corey, Jackson and Kensley and Wes. Brother of Tom, married to the former Beverly Rounsley, Windber; sister-in-law, Beverly, widow of Don Penrod, Windber; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ken was a 1949 Graduate of Windber High School. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1983 as an auto mechanic at the former Cambria Motors and also worked as a self-employed mechanic after retirement for 8 years. Member of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee for 40 years. He attended area men’s prayer breakfasts for many years and enjoyed gardening, wood crafting and camping. Ken and Phyllis would have celebrated their 70^th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2022. The Penrod family would like to thank the staff of Windber Woods for the care they gave to Ken. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of Funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Scalp Level Trinity U.M. Church, 751 Horn Road, Windber, with Rev. Jonathan Mann and Rev. James Sands, officiating. Private interment at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Scalp Level Trinity U.M. Church, 751 Horn Rd. Windber, Pa. 15963, in memory of Ken.
