PAUL---Kenneth L., 93, Richland Township, passed away on March 26, 2023. Born May 7, 1929, in Johnstown, son of Irvin and Mary (Shumaker) Paul. Preceded in death by parents; son, Wayne Brian Paul who died January 1, 2020; brothers, Raymond (Shirley), Ronald and sister, Betty Paul; and brother-in-law, Richard Healy. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Leona (Meier); daughter, Tammy, wife of Mark Young, Salix; grandchildren, Scott Yeager (Nicole), Tyler and Alex Paul; great-grandchildren, Von and Victoria Yeager; sisters, Phyllis Healy, Connecticut and sister-in-law, Susan Paul, Richland Township. Ken graduated from Richland Township High School and served in the US Army from 1951-1953. Early on, he worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. and construction jobs. He was one of the first 8 police officers for Richland Township and he served the township for over 26 years. As a young boy and young man, he helped his father on the farm and hauled coal. He loved being outside when it was warm and sunny. He enjoyed watching football and basketball on television. He played pinochle too and if he lost, watch out for the next game! Ken wanted to win! He loved his family and will be missed by them greatly. He was a member of the Richland American Legion, Post #849 and a Life member of the Solomon Run Volunteer Fire Co. Member of the Cambria Lodge #278, F & AM for over 50 years and also a member of the Jaffa Shrine, Valley of Altoona for 46 years. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Masonic service will be held at 7 pm and again from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, with Rev. Adam Dotts officiating. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum, with military rites by the Menoher VFW, Post #155 ritual team. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the National Autism Association at www.nationalautismassociation.org or a charity of your choice in memory of Kenneth L. Paul.
