Keith Gallagher

October 19, 1949 — March 21, 2022

Gallagher—Keith, 72, Berlin, went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022 at home. Born October 19, 1949, son of the late Joe and Abby (Akers) Gallagher. Husband of Cheryl (Gay) Gallagher; and daughter Tracy Suder (Scott) and granddaughter Madison.  Keith graduated from Richland Schools in 1967 and joined the PA National Guard with a lengthy career until retirement. He and Cheryl then moved and owned the Shy Beaver RV Park at Raystown Lake, until eventually selling and moving to Berlin to be close to their daughter and granddaughter. Keith was a lifelong member of the Richland Volunteer Fire Company and served as an officer for many years and helped with the finances and construction of the Scalp Avenue home of RVFD. While a member of the RVFD, Keith developed a life long friendship with Bob (Sr.) and Norie McGowan. He and Bob became inseparable hunting and fishing buddies until Bob’s death in 2009.  Keith remained close hunting and fishing companions with both Bob and PJ McGowan through his remining years. Denise and Marianne McGowan also remained close to Keith. Phil Hostetler and Mary and Jim Livella were also great friends. Although Keith loved the outdoors and the game of baseball, his true love was his family. Tracy was Keith’s “Rug Rat” as he called her early in her life. He also had her glued to his hip until she grew up and gave Keith his only granddaughter, Madison.  Madison was the sparkle of his eyes. If you knew Keith, he shared many stories of Madison and his love for her showed through in all of them. Keith had many friends though his life and left an impact on all.  The belief that Keith, Joe and Bob are reunited in Heaven helps our tears turn to smiles. Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. (Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com)
