Julia Sheila Mullaney

Mullaney - Julia Sheila, 91, Succasunna, NJ, formerly of Richland Township, passed away on July 8th 2021. Preceded in death by her husband, Denis, daughter, Juliann, as well as parents, brothers and sister. 

Survived by children William, Denis and his partner Wendy, Mary and her husband Steve, grandchildren Clare, Laura, and Ian, and sisters Katherine and Margaret.  Originally from Macroom, County Cork, Ireland, Sheila had a quick wit and enjoyed engaging in conversation when asked about her brogue. She was quick to offer a “cuppa tea” and something sweet to all who entered our home.

Sheila was a long-time member of St. Benedict’s parish in Geistown where she was very active in the Legion of Mary including serving as President; was an Attendee of Holy Hour and the Pro-Life Prayer Group, and helped organize the yearly Marion celebration. Decades earlier, Sheila could be found at Richland High School swim and track meets and girls' basketball games cheering on her kids and their teammates.  

Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
