HOLTZMAN—Julia “Bubba,” 96, Richland, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 at St. Jude’s Haven. Born July 9, 1927, in Johnstown, daughter of Wasil and Anastasia (Charnonich) Bango. Preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 58 years, Ray Holtzman; daughter Connie; brothers, Charles, John and George Bango; and sisters, Mary and Margaret and infant sisters, Ann Popovich, Helen Popovich, Mary Bango and Susan Curry. Survived by children, Raymond, married to the former Gayle Marshall, Richland; and Gary, married to the former Alice Jackson, Ocean City, MD; her four beloved granddaughters, Alicia, Crystal, Keashia and Kaija; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. The greatest love of her life was her family. She loved cooking all the Slavic foods. Julia worked at Sackett’s Steakhouse and then as a cook and waitress at the Menoher VFW Post #155 for many years. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday February 24, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, followed by Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, with Fr. David S. Peles. Committal, St. John Gualbert Cemetery. “Bubba, not only were you a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but you were also an angel on Earth.” Milujem T’a Navzdy.
