Maurer – Judith A. “Nana”, 83, of Johnstown, passed away on July 16, 2025, at Windber Hospice.
She was born on September 13, 1941, in Utahville, PA, daughter of Andrew and Jane (McGarvey) Chervenic.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; brother, Andrew “Terry” Chervenic; and her loving companion, Snapper.
She is survived by her children: stepson Richard Twardziak (Kim), Jaleen Waugh (Wayne), Terry Fleming (Scott), Laurie Andolina (Eddie), and Joseph Jr. (Tammy). Also survived by her grandchildren: Morgan Hall (Jeremy), Patrick Waugh (Allison), Andy Fleming, Josh Fleming (Jackie), Angela Maust (Anthony), Vincent Andolina, Landen and Ashlyn Maurer; six very loved great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends and loving extended family, including her 31 Card Club and her dice and Skip-Bo ladies.
Judy was a loving and supportive mother and Nana who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was an avid dog lover, slot player, and Elvis fan. A devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
At Judy’s request, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22nd, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Very Reverend Matthew Baum, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Mausoleum. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. The family suggests contributions be directed to Cambria County Humane Society or Windber Hospice in memory of Judy. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
