John J. Rozum

ROZUM—John J., 78, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on July 20th 2026 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born May 16th, 1948, in Johnstown, son of Joseph and Julia (Prestipino) Rozum. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Joseph and Patricia; brother-in-law, Gary (Ziggy), nephew, Bobby and great niece, Naomi. Survived by sister, Maria (Rozum) Witkosky, nieces and nephews Terri, Daniel, John, Julie and Suzanne; and great-nieces and great-nephews Logan, Megan, Abigail, Brock, Dylan, Gabriel, Mason, Julian and Jacob. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. John was a graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. He was a US Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. John served the Richland Township Police Department for 43 years and was a member of the SERT Team, worked as security officer at UPJ as well as the Cambria County Sheriff's Dept. He was a member and Vice Commander of VFW Post #4200, the American Legion Post #849, the FOP, Greater Ferndale Sportsmen’s Club, and the Tire Hill Rod and Gun Club. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to everyone. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Fr. David S. Peles. Military rites will be accorded by Menoher VFW, Post #155 ritual team. Private Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
