Lozar - John, 86 of Hollidaysburg, PA, formerly of Johnstown, PA passed gracefully from our hearts into God’s hands on November 14, 2018 at Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg. Born August 14, 1932 in Adams Township PA. Son of the late Frank and Louise (Kitt) Lozar. Also preceded in death by brothers, Anthony Lozar, Frank Lozar, Albert Lozar and former wife Estel L. Lozar. John is survived by his four children: Myrt (Stan) Zelek, Mt. Pleasant, SC; Durrelann (Jay) Cross, San Antonio, TX; John H. (Lisa) Lozar, Reading PA; David A. Lozar, Desoto, TX; eight grandchildren: Heather Adams (Michael Frontz), Altoona, PA; Grace Cross (Kimmel), San Antonio, TX; Stephen Lozar (Marie), Chestertown, MD; Matthew Lozar, Johnstown, PA; Justin Lozar, Holsopple, PA; Jason A. Zelek, Arlington, VA; Captain Aaron M. Zelek (Jennifer) US Army, Spring Lake, NC; Lauren E. Zelek, CO. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Andrew Wills, Amarissa and James Rhodes, Altoona, PA; Cory and Dominic Kimmel and Damon Mulvey of San Antonio, TX; Austin and Charlie Lozar, Chestertown, MD; Evan Lozar, Johnstown, PA. He is also survived by two nieces, Patricia Lozar Fortner and Shirley Lozar Rader and nephew, Gary Lozar. John was a 1952 graduate of Adams Township High School, Sidman, PA. After graduation, He served four years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. John then went to work for Bethlehem Steel, where he retired from the Gautier Division. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons and son-in-law, Stan and also enjoyed going to auctions to find bargains on everything. At John’s request, there will be no public viewing. A Memorial service will be held in the spring of 2019, date to be announced. Private inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 V.F.W. Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 322 Eighth Ave., Seventh Floor, New York, NY 10001 or to Grane Hospice Care, 115 Union Ave, Altoona, PA 16602 in memory of John.
